Oral Narration and Theater

1 Oral Narration and Theater San Marcos’ Cultural Center and the San Marcos’ Theater have come together to promote storytelling and theater. On June 24th, actors Norka Ramírez, Natalia Parodi and Marcello Rivera will share fun stories, while on June 25th Oscar Carrillo will direct the play “Asedio y liberación del ciego y la parturienta” by recognized Peruvian playwright José B. 3 Territorio de Intercambio - Exhibition "Territorio de Intercambio" is an art exhibition with 17 artists reflecting on art and their instruments and mediums for production. The pieces also deal with themes such as globalization in the art world and the ability for art to pass through diverse spaces. The exhibition features works from Peruvian artists Nicole Franchy, Carolina Salinas and Marcel Veloachaga, as well as by Chilean artists Ricardo Villarroel and Mauricio Bravo. 15 Tola – One of the Peru’s most important plastic artists, José Tola de Hábich (Lima, 1943), presents an anthology of his work from 1965 to 2008. He who perceives the world through intuition can touch it, live it, and transform it. Tola’s originality and intensity, seems to condense this relationship. This exhibition presents Tola as a demiurge, from his dark, pictoric phase, to his confusing explosions of color, and scenes where form, nightmares, and childplay take the stage. 30 Titina Titina, by Nicolás Yerovi, is a comedy fusing theater, music, dance, tourism, gastronomy and history, telling the love story of a young couple in Barranco of 1908. The play takes place on the streets of Barranco, where the actors and spectators will visit historical landmarks such as the Plazuela de San Francisco, the Puente de los Suspiros and the railway, all while following Titina´s family and their crazy adventures. The experience ends at the Posada del Angel II restaurant, where the actors and guests have lunch together. 60 Ciudadanos del Deseo Peruvian artist Miguel García, winner of the 7th Cairo Biennial will present his exhibition "Ciudadanos del Deseo" (Citizens of Desire) at the Casona de San Marcos. Basing his work on "Montero" "Los Funerales de Atahualpa", García has created two projections 3 by 5 meters tall. In this way, he demonstrates that the footprints left by the past are nothing but the interpretation that has been made of them in posterity.
