Today you will begin your journey to Cusco with a morning flight. Upon arrival you will be met by your guide and driver and be taken directly to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Going straight to the valley makes it easier to acclimatize as it sits at about 9,000ft as opposed to Cusco’s altitude of 11,200ft.
Along the way we will stop at Awana Cancha, an Alpaca farm, where you can see Alpacas up close as well as purchase various Alpaca garments. From here you will continue on to Pisac where there are a set of ruins to explore and a famous market to visit. A quick stop by Urubamba to enjoy lunch and visit to the city center will conclude the day’s activities. You will be dropped off at your hotel just in time to rest up and grab a light dinner.
Meals Included for the Day: Breakfast and Lunch
Day 4: Chinchero, Maras and Moray, and Ollantaytambo
An early breakfast kicks of this day of visiting the highlights of the Sacred Valley. Your first stop will be at Chinchero which sits at the highest altitude, some 12,300ft above sea level. Chinchero is best to visit on a Sunday to see the authentic, less touristy, local market. There is also the town center and colonial church adorned with frescoes. From here you will continue on to visit Moray, an agricultural archaeological site used by the pre-Inca and Inca cultures much like modern green houses are used today. Then stop by Maras to see the salt pools fed by a salt water spring. The last stop is Ollantaytambo, which hosts one of the most important archaeological structures in the valley, the fortress of Ollantaytambo, where the Incas defeated the Spanish in a heroic battle.
Meals Included for the Day: Breakfast and Lunch
Day 5: Machu Picchu to Cusco
Take the train on a 2 hour ride through the Andes Mountains where you will see the terrain change from highlands to cloud forest. This is where the great lost city of the Incas, Machu Picchu, was built atop a lush green mountain hidden by the fog. You will be accompanied by your guide and enjoy a 2 to 3 hour tour of the majestic ruins. After your tour you will take the 30 minute bus ride back down to Aguas Calientes, the city at the base of the ruins, to take the Vistadome Train back to Cusco. Upon arrival in Cusco your driver will take you to your hotel.
Meals Included for the Day: Breakfast and Lunch
Day 6: Sacsayhuaman and surrounding ruins and City Tour
Take a leisurely start to your day to visit the most important set of ruins outside of Cusco, Sacsayhuaman. Your guide will accompany you on this visit and if you like you can stop by the other nearby ruins. You will be driven back to main Cusco and given a short tour of the colonial city where you will get a chance to visit the Cathedral constructed in 1550 over an existing Incan temple and many other sites around the colonial center.
Meals Included for the Day: Breakfast
Day 7: Cusco to Lima

"Our stay in Cusco was also top class, both for the content of the exciting places, which we visited, but also due to the tender and kindness, which our guide Erick and the driver showed us.
Overall I have been very very satisfied with Peru Experience, both before coming but also during our trip. The support we got during our stay in Peru, is something that I have never experienced with any travel agency. It was a very positive experience. The help we got, when we came back to Lima and needed to change our tour was also absolutely fantastic.
We had a fantastic trip to Peru, and we have so many good experiences and memories from the country, together with a lot of fantastic images, that I have stored in my memory, not being possible to be reproduce these as photos. This means that we will never ever forget Peru.
And our good memories are mixed with the knowledge that Peru Experience made it possible for us to experience so many things without having to worry about anything, because everything was taken care of on beforehand."
