After a rejuvenating rest at your hotel you will be whisked away on your half-day historical city tour where you will visit some of the most important sites of colonial Lima. Some of these sites include Plaza de Armas and its surroundings such as the San Francisco Church, the Government Palace, and the Cathedral before returning to the hotel. In the evening you will have time to enjoy dinner at one of our recommended restaurants and we can assist with making reservations. Meals included: breakfast, lunch

Lima to Cusco, Awana Cancha, Piscac-Ruins, Pisac-Market, Urubamba

Today you will begin your journey to Cusco with a morning flight. Upon arrival you will be met by your guide and driver and be taken directly to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Going straight to the valley makes it easier to acclimatize as it sits at about 9,000ft (2745 meters) as opposed to Cusco’s altitude of 11,200ft (3400 meters).

Along the way we will stop at Awana Cancha, an Alpaca farm, where you can see Alpacas up close as well as purchase various Alpaca garments. From here you will continue on to Pisac where there are a set of ruins to explore and a famous market to visit. A quick stop by Urubamba to enjoy lunch and visit to the city center will conclude the day’s activities. You will be dropped off at your hotel just in time to rest up and grab a light dinner. Meals included: breakfast, lunch

Chinchero, Maras and Moray, and Ollantaytambo

An early breakfast kicks of this day 4 of your tour in Peru, today again with focus on the beautiful highlights of the Sacred Valley. Your first stop will be at Chinchero which sits at the highest altitude, some 12,300ft (3750 meters) above sea level. Chinchero is best to visit on a Sunday to see the authentic, less touristy, local market. There is also the town center and colonial church adorned with frescoes. From here you will continue on to visit Moray, an agricultural archaeological site used by the pre-Inca and Inca cultures much like modern green houses are used today. Then stop by Maras to see the salt pools fed by a salt water spring. The last stop is Ollantaytambo, which hosts one of the most important archaeological structures in the valley, the fortress of Ollantaytambo, where the Incas defeated the Spanish in a heroic battle. Meals included: breakfast, lunch

Machu Picchu

Take the train on a 2 hour ride through the Andes Mountains where you will see the terrain change from highlands to cloud forest. This is where the great lost city of the Incas, Machu Picchu, was built atop a lush green mountain hidden by the fog. You will be accompanied by your guide and enjoy a 2 to 3 hour tour of the majestic ruins. After your tour you will take the 30 minute bus ride back down to Aguas Calientes, the city at the base of Machu Picchu Mountain, to enjoy dinner and rest up for your next day of exploring. End of day 5 of your deluxe tour in Peru, tomorrow you have a second chance to visit the amazing citadel of Machu Picchu. Meals included: breakfast, lunch, dinner

Machu Picchu to Cusco

We recommend getting an early start to a second day of exploring the ruins of Machu Picchu. There are many places to hike to in the ruins and you can scale the mountain to get breath taking views of the entire archaeological site. You will have the better part of the morning and afternoon to explore as you please and in the mid-afternoon you will board the Vistadome Train for your return trip to Cusco. In Cusco you will be met by your driver to take you to your hotel. Meals included: breakfast

Sacsayhuaman and surrounding ruins and City Tour

Take a leisurely start to your day to visit the most important set of ruins outside of Cusco, Sacsayhuaman. Your guide will accompany you on this visit and if you like you can stop by the other nearby ruins. You will be driven back to main Cusco and given a short tour of the colonial city where you will get a chance to visit the Cathedral constructed in 1550 over an existing Incan temple and many other sites around the colonial center. Meals included: breakfast

Cusco to Lima

The last day of your trip in Peru concludes with a mid morning flight to Lima where you will be met by a private driver and vehicle. You will have 4 to 5 hours to explore the city as you please, visiting some shops, museums, or enjoying a long lunch at one of our recommended restaurants. You will then be taken to the airport once again to board your international flight home. Meals included: breakfast
